About Lucy
Soprano and comedy writer Lucy Mellors lives by the sea in Hampshire, which she loves. She also loves all things opera (except all-male creative teams) and wants everyone around her to love opera too.
Lucy’s first show, It is I, Seagull (a comedy about self esteem, joy, failure, opera and space travel) began touring in September 2023. Her second show Is Opera Boring? is touring in 2024/25 after a sold out run at the Phoenix Theatre, and her third show Sexy But Psycho will be developed in 2025.
Lucy heads up Gosport Creates, a creative participation programme for women in Gosport.
Lucy graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a Masters (Distinction) in Opera Performance and she has since worked with Welsh National Opera, English National Opera, Mid Wales Opera, Longborough Festival Opera, Burry Port Opera and Grimeborn Festival.
